SEND: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
What is SEND?
SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. A child or young person has SEND if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made for him or her in order to support them to make progress. A school or setting will often be able to offer this provision via the graduated approach to SEN Support.
Our Designated SEND lead is Mrs Joanne Steers, she can be contacted via the School office.
Telephone 0151 263 1300 or email [email protected]
What is the Local Offer? (Liverpool Local Authority)
From 2014 Local Authorities and schools are required to publish and keep under review information about services they expect to be available for the children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) aged 0-25. Therefore the intention of the Local Offer is to improve choice and transparency for families. It will also be an important resource for parents in understanding the range of services and provision in the area.
